Feeling Good

It feels great to be back to normal. You never really understand how sick you were until you are healthy again. I think that happens to a lot of athletes. They are so used to pushing themselves through tiredness, discomfort and such that when you are sick, your first thought is "I can get through this and still maintain my normal schedule". But you are doing yourself a disservese by not listening to your body. Rest, is the only answer.

Well on another note I had a good week of training. Some strenght work and my longest ride in months were the biggest acomplishments. I will finsih out the week with a mtb ride this afternoon. Then its is on to next weeks plan.

Have a great week.

Sick Week

My goal for 2008 is to return to my great fitness and racing form I had in 2006. I started 2008 off right with the first structured training in a year. I am ending my first recovery week or should I say sick week ready to get moving again.
2007 was a blur. Our first child was born and we moved into a new home. So my mind and body have been on other interest. But I am beginning to balance it and am hungry again.
My hat is off to all of those mothers and fathers out there who are able to balance a good family life, good fitness, and a good job. I quickly began to see after Liam was born how challenging it can be to balance all of that. But I did not try it right away for my self. I needed time to adapt.

Good luck this year.
